SOFTWARE BUILT AROUND YOUR BUSINESS.

Application security reviews & architecture

Security starts with the decisions underneath the interface: identity, permissions, data boundaries and the systems trusted to act on a user’s behalf.

WHO IT IS FOR

A REAL NEED.
A CLEAR SCOPE.

For teams designing a new system or reviewing a defined part of an existing application before its next release.

A security review needs a clear boundary and a practical purpose. We identify the application, environments, roles and data in scope before reviewing how access is granted and enforced. Architecture work considers how responsibilities are divided across the software and how those boundaries are maintained as the product changes.

WHAT WE CAN BUILD

CONNECTED
CAPABILITIES.

  • Identity, authentication and role-based access design
  • Tenant isolation and data ownership boundaries
  • Application hardening and explicitly scoped security reviews
  • Remediation planning, validation and technical records

We agree authorised scope, access and review objectives first. Findings are explained with their affected workflow and practical remediation. Where implementation is included, the plan covers validation of the change and the technical records the operating team needs. A review is bounded by its agreed scope and does not constitute a guarantee that a system has no vulnerabilities.

POSSIBLE PROJECT SCOPES

START WITH
THE WORKFLOW.

Illustrative scopes to help define your project.

01

Access control before a release

Review how customer, employee and administrator roles reach protected actions and records. Check that backend permission decisions match the intended business rules.

02

Multi-tenant data boundaries

Examine how an application scopes queries, files and integrations to the correct organisation. Include background work and administrative paths in the agreed review boundary.

03

An architecture and remediation plan

Review a defined application or integration before an expansion. Document the responsibilities of its components and prioritise changes around their effect on the business workflow.

PROJECT DELIVERABLES

KNOW WHAT
YOU RECEIVE.

Deliverables are agreed for your engagement. A scoped project can include:

  • An agreed written scope covering applications, environments, access and objectives
  • Findings tied to the affected roles, data and application behaviour
  • Prioritised remediation guidance and architecture decisions
  • Validation evidence for remediation included in the engagement and a technical handover

COST & TIMELINE

WHAT SHAPES
THE ESTIMATE?

Discuss your scope

Identify the application and environments you control, the release decision the review should inform and the access you can provide. Scope and written authorisation are agreed before review work begins.

  • Number of applications, APIs, environments and user roles
  • Depth of the agreed review and availability of code or documentation
  • Tenant boundaries, sensitive workflows and external integrations
  • Whether implementation and follow-up validation are included

Scope, dependencies and acceptance criteria determine the quote and release milestones. The first 30-minute conversation, prototype and demo are free.

HOW WE WORK

FROM THE FIRST
CONVERSATION.

How proposals work
01

Understand the work.

Map the business, users, constraints and decisions the system needs to support.

02

Explore the direction.

Use a free meeting, prototype and demo to make the core experience tangible.

03

Define the system.

Agree the scope, data, architecture, milestones and responsibilities before delivery.

04

Build, release, improve.

Validate the whole workflow, prepare the handover and plan how the product will evolve.

Understand the system you are building.

After agreement, we share the ERD, software architecture document and infrastructure architecture diagram appropriate to your project scope. Validation, deployment, documentation and handover are defined together.

BEFORE WE START

USEFUL
QUESTIONS.

  • Which applications and environments are in scope?
  • What sensitive actions and data need protection?
  • What release or architecture decision should the review inform?

Can security be part of the initial build?

Yes. Access rules, identity, data ownership and recovery are design decisions. We include them in the architecture and test the agreed boundaries during implementation.

What follows a scoped review?

The agreed output identifies findings and remediation priorities. Implementation and follow-up validation can be included in the scope or planned separately.

What do you need before an application security review starts?

We need an agreed application boundary, written authorisation, the relevant environments and roles, and a clear objective. Access, testing constraints and how findings will be handled are defined before work begins.

Does a security review certify that an application is secure?

No. Findings and validation relate to the authorised scope, access and point in time. We document those limits and the remaining responsibilities. Certification, compliance assessments and guarantees of finding every vulnerability are not implied.
